Shukar and Coffee
Shukar and Coffee is a cafe located inside the Memphis Islamic Center. Shukar is the Arabic word for thankfulness or gratitude and is a play on words for sugar and coffee. I created the brand identity of the cafe with a color palette inspired by Islamic prayer rugs and Moroccan tiles. The primary logo combined a heart and coffee mug to emphasize gratitude, while the minimalism of the secondary logo served to give a modern Muslim-American feel.
